The Oral Jesus Film Translation – Translation Process (Outreach Phase) is a hands-on, field-based continuation of the Oral Jesus Film Translation Workshop. This five-week practical phase allows mother tongue translators (MTTs), facilitators, and consultants-in-training to apply what they have learned in real translation environments as they continue the work of translating and recording the Jesus Film in their own languages. During this phase, participants work collaboratively in teams to translate, record, and check film scenes while engaging in community testing and consultant review. The process is guided by the CANA+ principles — Clarity, Accuracy, Naturalness, Appeal, and additional film-specific elements such as lip sync, sound quality, and emotional expression. For facilitators and consultants-in-training, the outreach phase focuses on developing mentoring, leadership, and technical skills necessary to guide translation teams effectively. For mother tongue translators, it provides deeper practical experience and spiritual growth through daily engagement with Scripture and teamwork. Each day integrates devotions, prayer, worship, and debrief times, ensuring that participants grow not only in technical skill but also in spiritual maturity and Christlike character. The experience reinforces servant leadership, cultural sensitivity, and teamwork as participants depend on the Holy Spirit for wisdom in every aspect of the translation process. By the end of this outreach phase, participants will have: Gained practical experience in all aspects of oral translation, back translation, and community checking. Strengthened their ability to apply CANA+ standards and film-specific quality checks. Developed greater confidence and competence as facilitators, mentors, and translators. Grown spiritually and relationally through shared ministry, teamwork, and discipleship.
