ORAL JESUS FILM TRANSLATION - MENTOR CHECKING (APL 113)

Crédits: 1 - 6

This workshop is an advanced training and mentoring phase designed for consultants-in-training, facilitators, and mother tongue translators (MTTs) who are preparing the Jesus Film for final approval. This workshop provides hands-on experience in the consultant checking process, ensuring that each translation meets CANA+ standards (Clarity, Accuracy, Naturalness, Appeal + film-specific elements such as lip sync, sound quality, and emotional expression). Participants learn and practice: Leading and participating in consultant check sessions, working through scene-by-scene reviews. Collaborating with translators and community members to test clarity and cultural appropriateness. Applying consultant-level feedback to refine back translations, recordings, and final revisions. Integrating spiritual formation with technical work through daily devotions, worship, and prayer. The workshop emphasizes learning by doing: consultants-in-training work under the guidance of experienced consultants while actively supporting MTTs in their translation tasks. This dual focus ensures both the completion of high-quality translations and the growth of new consultants and facilitators who will serve in future projects. By the end of the workshop, participants will have practical consultant check experience, strengthened cross-cultural and technical skills, and deeper spiritual maturity to serve the global mission of making God’s Word available in every language.
