COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

Students engage in directed observation of teachers and students in several classrooms, also learning about a school community as a whole. They observe and record how teachers maintain a God-honoring environment that welcomes children and their families, where children are able to grow in wisdom and character as they participate in active learning.  Students increasingly assist teachers with daily classroom tasks. Formal lesson planning is introduced and throughout the second half of the quarter students are involved in preparing and teaching mainly literacy and numeracy focused lessons.
