The second quarter of the Chronological School of Biblical Studies (CSBS) continues the chronological journey through Scripture with a focus on the prophetic books, the later history of the Old Testament, the intertestamental period, and an introduction to the Gospels. Students continue developing their Inductive Bible Study (IBS) skills while exploring how the message of the prophets shaped the Messianic hope that is fulfilled in the New Testament.
Throughout the quarter, students trace the unfolding story of redemption that runs throughout the entire Bible - from Genesis to Revelation - examining God’s covenant faithfulness, prophetic promises, and redemptive plan for humanity. Special emphasis is placed on understanding the historical setting of the prophets, the transition between the Old and New Testaments, and how the Old Testament points forward to the coming of Christ.
