Bible Core Course ( CHR 211 )

This Course gives students a good understanding of the Inductive approach to Bible study, learning how to think critically, equipping them with tools for life. The students read through the whole Bible and every type of biblical genre is studied, with books from both the Old and New Testament. All types of teaching and learning styles are experienced. A New Testament Timeline and Old Testament Timeline are completed, bringing a great overview of the Bible. Students learn how to memorize and meditate on the Word. They are given opportunities to gain experience in facilitating a Bible study, and enhance their skills in teaching and preaching the Word. Biblical School of Justice ( HMT 263 )

This course will help students understand the historical and cultural backgrounds of injustice issues, develop a biblical worldview of God's plan for humankind, understand the mandate to steward that design and discover means of confronting injustice. They will be given practical tools for serving as well as spiritual preparation.

Discipleship Training School (DTS) ( DSP 211 )

This school is an intensive Christian discipleship course beginning with an 11 week lecture/teaching phase followed by an 8 week practical field assignment. It is a prerequisite for all other courses in the University of the Nations, and also serves to orient and prepare all new Youth With A Mission (YWAM) staff. The DTS is designed to encourage students in personal character development, cultivating their relationship with God and identifying their unique gifts and callings. Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness are special emphases throughout the course, preparing the students to evangelize and disciple current and future generations, answering the call to go into all the world and teach (make disciples of) all nations(Matthew 28:19). The curriculum is in the following six major categories: God's nature and character; God's intention for individuals, peoples and nations; seeing all of life from God's perspective; redemption, sin, and the Cross; God's family - the Church; God's world - His call and commission; the ministries of YWAM.Focused DTS's: In some locations the DTS is offered with a particular focus, such as the Crossroads DTS, Operation Year DTS, University DTS, Sports DTS, Arts DTS, etc.Credit will be given for this course with satisfactory completion of DSP 212.

School of Biblical Studies I ( CHR 213 )

This is the first in a series of three courses that make up the School of Biblical Studies (SBS). This course sequence surveys the whole Bible using the inductive approach (observation, interpretation and application). This course may serve as a core course in all bachelor's degree programs. School of Biblical Studies III ( CHR 316 )

School of Islamic Studies ( CHR/HMT 283 )

"The School of Islamic Studies was designed to raise up leaders who are equipped to effectively reach the Muslim world. This school will teach you how to share the Gospel across cultures; to begin to understand Muslim history, values, and world view. Our desire is to launch you into full time missions knowing how to begin the process of pioneering DTS’s, Churches, and other new ministries within Muslim culture. A large focus of our school is not only learning about Islam, but gaining wisdom about how to create a sustainable ministry that will last for years to come. Our hope is that through both this school and our optional outreaches your heart will burn as Christ’s does, and that you will be launched into successful long-term missions as we help you develop a plan to impact the nation on your heart."

School Of Ministry Development ( CHR 241 )

Leadership schools come in different forms, designed to meet the needs of the students, equipping them for servant leadership while giving the opportunity for personal growth and development. Two emphases offered in this category of school are: School of Ministry Development (SOMD) - During this school students discover and develop their gifts and talents in leadership roles. The SOMD is especially useful for those who are seeking to be further equipped for ministry in a variety of contexts. The training can be adapted to the language and culture of the country in which it is taught. Some of the topics are: understanding the core values of YWAM, perspectives on missions, vision development, transforming cultures, personal fund-raising, situational leadership, bible-centered leadership, discovering your call, public speaking, spiritual authority, and conflict resolution. School of Pioneer Leadership Development (SPLD) - This school has the goal of equipping young leaders to pioneer new YWAM bases, schools or ministries. Students will receive tools to help them in becoming active learners and leaders -- learning the culture, and in some cases the language, of the people where they will pioneer. Topics include team building, principles of pioneering, servanthood, foundational leadership practices, mentoring, coaching, and the role of intercession in pioneering. Students may have an opportunity to work alongside ministries that are in a pioneering phase of development. A recommendation from a YWAM leader is​ required for entry into this course.

Topics include: character and lifestyle as a worshiper, understanding the work of the Holy Spirit in worship, applying worship principles within a cross-cultural context, the biblical and historical aspects of worship, leadership and teamwork, the dynamics of worship and intercession, prophetic ministry and worship, spiritual warfare, creativity and musicianship, and worship in missions and evangelism. Transformation Bible Seminar ( CHR 127 )

This course is a 6-week Bible seminar aimed to have our students saturated in the Word, giving them tools for sustained growth in the Lord through the Bible for the rest of their lives. Our objective is that they grow in knowledge of the Word, receive revelation from the Holy Spirit as they interact with the Word, then give opportunity for them to walk out these new truths in obedience, which will lead to lasting transformation in their life.

Worship, Intercession, Spiritual Warfare and Evangelism School ( CHR 263 )

This school combines training in worship, intercession, spiritual warfare and evangelism in the context of a YWAM training centre where staff and students worship, pray and evangelize together. The training emphasizes the correlation between fruitful evangelism and deepening a relationship with God in worship, discovering His plan in intercession, and reinforcing His will in spiritual warfare.
