Communication Discipleship Training School (DTS.com) ( DSP 211 )

This school is an intensive Christian discipleship course beginning with an 12-weeks lecture/teaching phase followed by an 11 week practical field assignment. It is a prerequisite for all other courses in the University of the Nations, and also serves to orient and prepare all new Youth With A Mission (YWAM) staff. DTS.COM is designed to encourage students in personal character development, cultivating a living relationship with God and identifying their unique gifts and callings. Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness are special emphases throughout the course, preparing the students to evangelize and disciple current and future generations, answering the call to Go into all the world and teach (make disciples of) all nations; (Matthew 28:19). The training also focuses on Godly communication; relevant tools are given to help students effectively and clearly communicate the gospel. The to curriculum is in the following six major categories: (1) God's nature and character; encountering God; (2) God's intentions for individuals, peoples and nations, seeing all of life from God's perspective; (3)God's redemption; sin, and the Cross, recognizing Jesus as lord; (4) God's family; His Children and His Church; becoming more like Jesus (5) God's world - His call and His commission; (6)YWAM; a response to God; knowing God and making Him known. DTS.COM, Credit will be given for this course with satisfactory completion of DSP 212.

Computer Media Applications ( CMC 298 )

This course prepares students for roles in to be relevant in information technology and the media business. It will equip them with cutting edge computer skills in windows applications, concepts of designs and graphics, media tools, social media, the internet, graphics and design. The course will help them discover God’s purpose and their part in nation building as they engage communities thereby become agents of transformation.

This course equips people to use a computer for basic administration and media purposes. They will be trained in computer hardware, software and multimedia. It will also improve students’ level of comprehension, composition and writing.

School of Communication Foundations ( CMC 211 )

This program lays essential foundations in biblical communication, while advancing the individual's skill and confidence in speaking, writing and listening. It aims to sharpen the student's ability to communicate clearly through cross-cultural and interpersonal dynamics, and equips students with principles of preparing and delivering a message to a variety of audiences. Through provoking instruction and discussion, practical assignments, and video evaluation, students discover their place and potential as effective influencers in the public forum. This course meets the U of N Core Curriculum requirement for Communication.

School of Video Production ( CMC 281 )

A six month school that introduces students to the basics of video production both in theory and practice. Students attend a 3 month class room phase and another 3 month internship phase.
