Basic Leadership Seminar ( CHR 145 )

My desire for the leaders and staff of the BCC is that they will learn the heart of the school, & how to run a school effectively. To gain a desire for and the ability to multiply & learn to think strategically & to become trainers and developers themselves.

Bible Core Course / Escuela de Fundamentos en Estudios Bíblicos ( CHR 211 )

1. This Course gives students a good understanding of the Inductive approach of Bible study - Equipping them with tools for life 2. The students read through the whole Bible aloud 3. Many different styles of teaching and learning are used & experienced 4. Every type of Biblical Genre is studied 5. Books from both the Old and New Testament are studied inductively 6. A NT Timeline and an OT Timeline are completed 7. Study for life change is what we do, and transformation is a key element of the course 8. This course provides a means for learning how to incorporate the Scriptures into areas of evangelism, worship and intercession and life 9. The students learn how to memorize and meditate on the Word 10. The students are given opportunities to gain experience in facilitating a Small Group Bible study, and enhance their skills in Teaching and Preaching the Word 11. They study Hebrew poetry through Psalms and Proverbs 12. They study Wisdom literature through Proverbs 13. They study in-depth the historical background of every book studied 14. They learn mapping and geography of the time periods 15. They're taught to think, learn and study

Discipleship Bible School ( CHR 205 )

In this course students are equipped with tools for in-depth personal Bible study. This course combines quality teaching, personal study, and practical application in order to help students develop a modest vocabulary and basic familiarity with the Scriptures as preparation for more advanced courses. It gives comprehensive coverage of many facets of Bible study such as inspiration and canonization of the Scriptures, hermeneutics, biblical ethics, Old Testament survey, basic Greek, New Testament survey, Church history, and homiletics. A disciplined learning environment helps prepare the student for a lifetime of Bible study. The school focuses on a variety of biblical topics already introduced in the Discipleship Training School, yet goes into a deeper study of each topic, with an emphasis on personal discipleship. Specific content will vary according to course location. This course meets the U of N Core Curriculum requirement for Bible and is offered under the following names: School of Biblical Foundations (SBF) and Discipleship Bible School (DBS). En este curso, los estudiantes están equipados con herramientas para el desarrollo continuo del estudio bíblico personal. Este curso combina enseñanza dinámica, procesamiento en grupos pequeños, estudio personal, uno a uno’s y aplicación práctica para ayudar a los estudiantes a desarrollar un vocabulario modesto y una familiaridad básica con las Escrituras como preparación para cursos más avanzados. A lo largo del curso, los estudiantes crecerán en su comprensión de la naturaleza y el carácter de Dios, cómo vivir y contribuir a la comunidad, la importancia de los pactos, comunicar el plan de redención de Dios, usar la Palabra en un contexto ministerial y descubrir el panorama general de Biblia. Un ambiente de aprendizaje disciplinado ayuda a preparar al estudiante para una vida de estudio bíblico. Mediante la facilitación de grupos pequeños y la creación de una comunidad, la EDB enfatiza el discipulado personal y el carácter piadoso. Además, la escuela se enfoca en una variedad de temas bíblicos edificando sobre la base establecida en la Escuela de Discipulado y Entrenamiento. Este curso cumple con el requisito del plan de estudios básico de la U of N para la Biblia.

Escuela de Discipulado y Entrenamiento ( DSP 211 )

This school is an intensive Christian discipleship course beginning with an 11 or 12-week lecture/teaching phase followed by an 8-12 week practical field assignment. It is a prerequisite for all other courses in the University of the Nations, and also serves to orient and prepare all new Youth With A Mission (YWAM) staff. The DTS is designed to encourage students in personal character development, cultivating their relationship with God and identifying their unique gifts and callings. Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness are special emphases throughout the course, preparing the students to evangelize and disciple current and future generations, answering the call to “Go into all the world and teach (make disciples of) all nations.” (Matthew 28:19). The curriculum is in the following six major categories: God’s nature and character; God’s intention for individuals, peoples and nations; seeing all of life from God’s perspective; redemption, sin, and the Cross; God’s family - the Church; God’s world - His call and commission; the ministries of YWAM. Focused DTS’s: In some locations the DTS is offered with a particular focus, such as the Crossroads DTS (YWAM CDTS), Operation Year DTS, University DTS, Sports DTS, Arts DTS, etc. Credit will be given for this course with satisfactory completion of DSP 212.
