TRANSLATION VILLAGE WORKSHOP (APL 125)

“The Translation Village” is a compilation of real events experienced by Edson and Marcia Suzuki in different places and times during their ministry in the Amazon, combined and adapted to illustrate the process of Oral Bible Translation. This story was crafted with the goal of helping students internalize and connect the concepts they need to know in order to facilitate a holistic and effective OBT process. Storality (Story + Orality) is a narrative-based educational approach in which stories are used as the central component of all teaching activities, with the aim of engaging mind, heart, and body to produce visceral understanding and deep learning. In other words, the term refers to the use of storytelling as a tool for transmitting knowledge, ideas, and values. It refers to the practice of using oral traditions, narrative techniques, and the power of stories to engage learners, convey complex ideas, and promote learning in a wide range of settings.
