MATERNAL HEALTH EDUCATORS (HLC 273)

Prerequisites: DSP 211 & 212 Discipleship Training School & Field Assignment
Credits: 11 - 12

This course trains people to be educators for pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, birth and postpartum health. It will also create a foundation for any student wanting to continue on to become an accredited midwife. Students will learn to educate on maternal health in a variety of contexts, gain understanding of foundational messages on motherhood, identity of women, and the like. They will develop pregnancy, birth and postpartum support skills (doula). They will learn how to disciple women in their chosen context.
