This will run over one quarter and is part of a 1 year Bible Hermeneutics Program. This course is portfolio based, students will read books covering different topics related to Bible, hermeneutics and history. A goal of this course is to not rely heavily on lectures but rather on reading, writing and facilitating discussion on the material covered in the weeks reading. Students will write chapter summaries throughout each book and then process that content in a group setting each week. They will each develop new teaching content each quarter. Teaching/preaching material will be developed with weekly mentorship on the topic chosen by the student. Each chapter summary and all teaching content will be organized into a portfolio upon completion of this two year program. The focus on this quarter is Intertestamental Jewish literature, the teaching and preaching material is all geared toward how reading this literature helps us understand an aspect of the New Testament.
