COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATION

PHOTO STORYTELLING SEMINAR (CMC 118)

Prerequisites:
Credits: 1 - 12

Through this seminar participants will develop the skills to capture the beauty, dignity, truth and hope that God sees in people and circumstances, through photography and written stories. Students will learn to take meaningful and effective photographs, and to be led by God in developing personal connections with the people and communities around them, as they learn their stories and use their skills and creativity to capture them. They will also learn to present these photos and stories in an exhibition format, which can be used to stir intercession, raise finances, bring awareness of situations, and call people to response. This seminar is conducted in YWAM Perth. This provides participants with access to various communities and neighbourhoods that could become a focus for photography exhibitions, as well as venues for presenting such exhibitions. However, the skills are designed to be transferable to a variety of contexts.
