The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is an intensive Christian discipleship course consisting of two main components: a 12 week lecture phase and a 10 week outreach phase. The DTS is designed to encourage students in personal character development, cultivating their relationship with God and identifying their unique gifts and callings - all with the goal in mind to make Matthew 28:12 a lifestyle, going to the nations and making disciples of all nations.
The curriculum includes the following major categories: The Bible; God's Nature and Character; Biblical Christian Worldview; Sin, The Cross & Redemption; Our Identity As Believers; the Great Commission; YWAM and its Ministries. Students will gain cross-cultural skills and a global awareness of God's intentions for the nations. Evangelism, Mercy Ministries & Training are three pillars accompanying students throughout the entirety of the DTS.
The DTS is a prerequisite for all further training within the University of the Nations (UofN), and also serves to orient and prepare all new Youth With A Mission (YWAM) staff. Credits will be given for this course with satisfactory completion of the lecture phase (DSP 211) and outreach (DSP 212).
