Old Testament Seminar

TML is a four week seminar in which we will read the whole Old Testament, understand more about the historical background and will look for ways to apply this truth to our lives. The course will provide a short introduction to the OT, literature styles and a short introduction to each book. We will then read the books out loud in chronological order and in creative ways. The goal is to have as many senses involved as possible, to make it a memorable moment for the student. There will be different decoration for the classroom and public areas of the base for each different period depicted in the OT, we’d like to have some different music, to ask the students to build some things or to act some things out and so forth… We will have a feast every week, which centers on an OT feast, and we want to show the connection to the NT and to our lives. In short, we want to understand the Bible in its historical context and make it clear how relevant it is for us today. We plan to end the four weeks by reading the gospel of Matthew.
