Barista Arts Seminar ( ATS 147 )

We aim to model for baristas how to use barista and coffee skills to reach out to people in all spheres of society and create community. Also through this we aim to break down structure-based limitations and curriculum barriers. We attempt to make YWAM more open and inclusive for a broader expression of the body of Christ to be able to experience a missional lifestyle through this sphere of influence in society. This school is for those with a passion for coffee and a heart for people. We are about serving people, learning a craft, and building community. More than just coffee, we focus on the inner workings of a cafe, the ways to build a business, and how to get our community more involved together. We want to brew coffee and brew community; to gather people while learning excellence in our craft. Within the three months, we will focus on the history and process of coffee/espresso, the skills of being a barista, and also the key points of customer service and how we can be a difference and an influence in the lives of those we are serving.

Dance Seminar ( ATS 111 )

We aim to model for dancers how to use dance to reach out to people in all spheres of society. We also aim to break down structure-based limitations and curriculum barriers. We attempt to make YWAM more open and inclusive for a broader expression of the body of Christ to be able to experience a missional lifestyle through this sphere of influence in society. In the dance internship, we want to dance to bring cultures together, to draw people to God and to translate the passion of God to others. We believe that dance is a powerful tool that can function as a channel for God to bring joy, freedom, deliverance and revelation. We believe that dancers can work together and move to break structures and boundaries, in the spiritual and in the natural.

Fashion & Clothing Seminar ( ATS 125 )

We aim to model for fashion designers, stylists, and bloggers how to use fashion to reach out to people in all spheres of society. We also aim to break down structure-based limitations and curriculum barriers. We attempt to make YWAM more open and inclusive for a broader expression of the body of Christ to be able to experience a missional lifestyle through this sphere of influence in society. Our desire is to bring light into the field of fashion. During the internship, we will explore how we can do fashion for the kingdom of God, embrace and grow in our identity as artists, and how we can use fashion to have an impact in the fashion industry. We will go through the process of creating clothes from designing to making, and we will create pieces and collections that reflect what we believe in and what God puts on our hearts to communicate to the people around us.

Media Seminar ( CMC 115 )

We aim to model for creative writers how to use creative writing to reach out to people in all spheres of society. We also aim to break down structure-based limitations and curriculum barriers. We attempt to make YWAM more open and inclusive for a broader expression of the body of Christ to be able to experience a missional lifestyle through this sphere of influence in society. In today’s society, we want to be writers who can translate the values and the beauty of God into personal stories, making Jesus available to a crowd that doesn’t like church or religion. We need articles, books, and blogs about positive things, making the gospel practical. We need to speak His words over a new generation that has never met Him.

Ministry Development Seminar ( CHR 147 )

This Ministry Development Seminar enables students to discover and develop their gifts and talents in leadership roles. Through the classroom sessions, participants discover their spiritual and motivational gifts, and learn about vision development, spiritual leadership and communication skills for leaders.

Performing Arts Seminar ( ATS 113 )

This seminar aims to teach participants how make use of the performing arts in worship and proclamation of the Gospel. Both theoretical and practical training are included in the curriculum. The Arts Internship is a three month course that will enable interns to use the creative arts to serve the major cities of the world. The focus is not only to train the interns in their art areas, but rather to combine the arts with faith in God, in a way that enables them in a missional way to touch the hearts of those who witness their arts in action. This time includes practical, hands-on instruction and one-to-one discipling, as well as several weeks of outreach. Interns will live the life of a missionary in the arts. The different tracks that are available in the internship are dance, drama, fashion, fine arts, barista, body art, creative writing, music, and media/photography. All of the artists work together in their different tracks to create one innovative production to be performed or displayed during the outreach phase. A typical day in the Arts Internship could include a morning devotional, practice in the art tracks, work duties, family time, spiritual teaching, and working on the production for outreach. Interns will learn about prophetic art, art as evangelism, spiritual warfare, using artistic gifts for God, and other topics. This course is not limited to those who have graduated from a DTS.

School of Ministry Development ( CHR 241 )

Introductory level leadership courses are known by various names at various YWAM/UofN training centres, but generally have similar goals of training staff and leaders at those centres, equipping staff for servant leadership and giving opportunity for personal growth and development. Topics will vary according to the location. Typical topics include understanding YWAM history and values, spiritual disciplines for leaders, time management, fund-raising, personal ministry development, calling, purpose and vision, identity of a leader, conflict resolution, and other topics pertitent to leadership development in a particular locale.

Sports Ministry Training ( ATS 181 )

The Football Seminar is a six week "taste of missions" lifestyle through sports that will enable you to use football to serve London and the major cities of the world. These three months are split up into a ‘preparation phase’ and an ‘outreach phase’. The Football Seminar focuses on growing students in their football skills, both individually and playing in a team. Our main goal is to do football as a mission, reaching and connecting with people where they are at. We believe that God has called us to disciple and invest in young people, and a way of doing so is to reach them through football. We see football as an opportunity to do outreach, as well as learning a lot about yourself and your role in a team. We aim to spend time practicing individual skills during the week and then be playing football as a part of outreach.

We focus on practicing art forms and teaching new ways of doing visual and street arts. Students can experience everything from painting, drawing, and sculpting to graffiti and multi-media installations.
