This school is an intensive Christian discipleship course that begins with a lecture / teaching phase of 11 or 12 weeks followed by a practical field assignment of 8 to 12 weeks. It is a prerequisite for all other courses at the University of the Nations, and is also used to guide and prepare all new Youth for Mission teams (YWAM). The DTS is designed to encourage students in the development of personal character, cultivating their relationship with God and identifying their unique gifts and callings. Intercultural exposure and global awareness are special emphases throughout the course, preparing students to evangelize and disciple present and future generations, responding to God's call to go to the whole world and teach (make disciples) all nations. The curriculum is in the following six major categories: the nature and character of God; God's intention for individuals, peoples and nations; Seeing all of life from the perspective of God; Redemption, sin and the cross; The family of God - the Church; The world of God - His calling and commission; The ministries of YWAM.
