This school is an intensive Christian discipleship course that begins with a lecture / teaching phase of 11 or 12 weeks followed by a practical field assignment of 8 to 12 weeks. It is a prerequisite for all other courses at the University of the Nations, and also serves to guide and prepare all young people with a personal mission (YWAM). DTS is designed to encourage students in developing personal character by cultivating their relationship with God and identifying their unique gifts and callings. Intercultural exposure and global awareness are special emphases throughout the course, preparing students to evangelize and disciple present and future generations, responding to the call to "Go into all the world and teach all nations.". The curriculum is in the following six main categories: nature and character of God; God's intention for individuals, peoples and nations; Seeing all of life from God's perspective; Redemption, sin and the Cross; The family of God - the Church; The world of God - His call and commission; The ministries of YWAM. DTS Focused: In some locations, DTS is offered with a specific focus, such as CrossTS DTS (YWAM CDTS), DTS Operation Year, University DTS, DTS Sports, DTS Arts, etc. Credit will be given for this course with satisfactory completion of DSP 212.
